Our Rug Cleaning Process

Our start-to-finish rug cleaning process includes the following:
Inspection - to establish the age, condition and material of the rug, so we can decide on the best course of action for its cleaning.
Dusting - a thorough dust will shake loose any grit and dirt lodged in the fibers. It will also remove allergens and dust particles.
Pre-Treatment - a gentle conditioning pre-treatment for spots and stains is then applied, going to work on troublesome stains such as red wine, grease and pet urine.

We then get to the main part of the treatment:
Cleaning - depending on your rug’s material, we will treat it in one of two ways. Either we will use a deep immersion technique or dry clean it. With deep immersion, it will be dipped in a shallow pool, then patted dry with soft towels. Dry cleaning is also done by hand but clearly we use no water. Not using machinery really does give protection to your rug and we use soft bristled brushes to gently massage the material.
Drying - we then take the rug into a drying room, which is climate-controlled and humidity free. This lets the rug dry quickly and makes sure no mold and mildew form.
Finally we give your rug a groom, aligning the pile and straightening the fringe.
